Kitchen and Bath Designer
Denise Hauser Design Co.
Clients recognize Hauser’s passion for going well beyond a kitchen or bath design to create an environment steeped in architectural beauty and distinctiveness. Not so apparent is the unconventional path she has taken to become one of region’s sought-after talents.
From 1986 to 2004, Hauser worked for Hartmarx Corp., a Chicago-based company where her primary role was product development buyer. For both a catalog and 200 specialty stores, she collaborated closely with New York manufacturers to design and develop clothing for Barrie Pace, a high end women’s apparel company.
As a buyer, her responsibilities included not only product development, but bottom-line sales and profitability as well. During her last eight years, Hauser was Barrie Pace’s vice president of merchandising. Becoming one of Hartmarx’s first female VPs, she spearheaded the financial turnaround of the $50 million catalog.
In 2004, Hauser formed Sagewood Restoration & Design, LLC, an Oak Park-based restoration and design company committed to the historic restoration of investment properties in Oak Park and surrounding communities. The kitchens and baths were the highlight of her work.
From April 2005 to January 2008, Hauser worked as an independent contractor for a high end design firm, serving as kitchen and bath designer. She also served as the firm’s business development and marketing director. In January 2008, Hauser formed Denise Hauser Design Co, allowing herself to pursue her personal business model of dedicated customer service and holistic design.
An active member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association, Denise and her husband have been married since 1989 and reside in Oak Park with their two children.
